If you've heard the Mindful Minute on Peace 107 you may be wondering, "Who is this guy?" Well, if you don't know me yet, please allow me to give a little background on my family and I. I was raised in south Texas and moved to College Station in 1995 to pursue abusiness degree from Texas A&M. My dad began investing in real estate her in 1993 and that got my interest in real estate going. When I graduated from Texas A&M in 1999, I began my real estate career in property management and quickly transitioned into sales with a local company within a year.
I met my wife at Central Baptist Church in 1999, but we didn't date until 2001 and we married in May of 2002. At about that time, God began to bless us and my real estate career began to blossom. In 2004, I was named in Realtor Magazine's "Top 30 Realtors under 30" article as a runner up. This was quite the honor as that meant I was in the top 35 nationwide of all Realtors under 30 years old.
In 2004, our first daughter was born followed by our second in 2006. In 2008, Beau came along. You may recognize him from our advertising. After our 3rd child, we began praying about whether we should have more children. Amanda & I both felt like we wanted more kids, but that we shouldn't "have" more kids. God began to open our hearts to adoption.
After praying and searching for a couple of years, God led us to foster to adopt. We completed our licensing requirements with the State of Texas and were quickly placed with 2 beautiful twins (a boy and a girl) in the summer of 2011. The fostering process lasted about 18 months and we did not know through that time whether they would go back with their biological family or would be available to adopt. We didn't feel like we should push the issue with the state because we both realized that God loves them (and our bio kids) more than we or anyone else on earth could. We had to trust Him and His will. In 2012 the twins became available for adoption, and on 12/12/12 they became our children!
In the mean-time, I stayed active in the real estate market and was named Realtor of the Year in 2011 and served as the MLS President in 2013.
My wife and I continue as advocates for adoption and in serving the local real estate market. Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions about adoption or real estate!
